Last Training of EduCamp Training of Trainers Module at Alexandria University: 
The last of 9 Teaching of Trainers (TOT) modules was held at Alexandria University between 27th April and 1st May.

Organised by Professor Boshra Salem of the Faculty of Science, Alexandria University, it involved a total of 21 participants from differing backgrounds. Professor Salem is also responsible for the Biodiversity Kits used by the programme.

First Center of Excellence established

Cairo University has the pleasure to announce the establishment of the Unit of Excellence for Education for Sustainable Development within the structure of the University Community Service Centre. The establishment of the ESD unit has been presented to the Community Service Management Board and it was approved through a modification to the Centre’s bylaw. The modification included adding the new ESD unit with its legal framework, its organizational structure and its financial framework. The new bylaw was revised by the university legal consultants and it was finally approve by the University Council last September to be the first ESD unit in the Egyptian universities, partner in the EduCamp Project.

EduCamp won an RCE Recognition Award at the 7th Global RCE Conference in Korea

During the 7th Global RCE (Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development) Conference, which took place at the city of Tongyeong, Korea, the first RCE Recognition Awards were conferred by the Global RCE Service Centre of the United Nations University, Institute of Advanced Studies. The RCE Award recognizes good practices in education for sustainable development that have ‘translated existing local knowledge into concrete sustainability change practices, and empowered individuals and communities to make sustainable choices for the future. The nominated projects provided evidence of involvement of diverse actors in addressing local sustainable development challenges through dialogue, education, research and multi-stakeholder learning’ (UNU-IAS, 2012).
